What are the right words to use when launching a personal website? Who will read them? Will anybody care? Are you convinced that readers should read what you write?
These thoughts held me back from publishing my writing for years. I believed that writing privately was only a way for me think and learn - to connect thoughts, concepts, and perceptions in my mind. While this was true, I began to recognize that by not sharing my writing, I was missing out on the opportunity to engage with others about my creations.
Something changed last year. I now realize my experiences and insights are worth sharing. I want to counter increasing social isolation by reaching out and connecting with other people. As an act of rebellion against mass-marketed content and AI-generated slop, I aspire to claim an area of the web as my own.
This website represents the first wager in my Year of Small Bets1. I am delighted you are here. My objective is to engage in public experimentation by sharing my thoughts and creations. Rather than setting lofty expectations, my modest goal is to create a site I’d enjoy visiting and sharing with others.
